I saw Mr Warner because I had severe pain in my right hand, around the base of my thumb and wrist area when I attempted to grip or hold anything. Mr Warner examined my hand and explained thoroughly possible causes. After x-ray/ scan and further consultation with Mr Warner, it was confirmed that I had arthritis at the base of my thumb, steroid injections were tried to relieve the pain but unfortunately the injections did not work. Mr Warner explained the trapeziectomy and suture suspension sling procedure to myself, explaining everything in detail. I agreed to go down that route, and in November 2018 I had the trapeziectomy operation followed by post op consultations and physiotherapy. The trapeziectomy was successful, the pain in my thumb has gone and I can hold and grip things. I was discharged in June 2019. I would recommend Mr Warner to anyone who has similar problems, I found him professional, informative , polite and a very good surgeon.

I have just undergone corrective surgery for Dupuytren’s contracture for the third time with Mr James Warner. On each occasion the result has been entirely successful with the form and functionality of the fingers concerned completely restored. I have great admiration for Mr Warner’s skill and dedication and I believe I have much to thank him for in preserving my quality of life.

Since originally meeting with Mr Warner to identify my condition (Dupuytrens Contracture) over 18 years ago, I have had six operations to straighten my fingers completed by him and all have been a great success, I understand that I will need further operations as time goes on and will have no hesitation in going back to Mr Warner. He is very understanding of the nature of my condition, explains everything, puts you at ease and cares about the results. His staff are equally caring and make you feel comfortable at all times through the process from start to finish.

From my very first consultation l was made to be completely completely at ease and confident in the procedures l was to have performed on me. This proved to be exactly right as l was advised on what was to happen throughout my stay. The operation was successful and no complications at all following surgery. All staff who attended me were very kind but also professional in every way and my stay could not have been improved upon. l am indebted to Mr James Warner for the excellent surgery that he performed on me and also his very warm and straightforward manner in explaining the whole process. Mr Warner is very approachable. He is as interested in his patient as he is of the symptoms for which they have come to him.He is caring, puts the patient at ease and explains what he is going to do, clearly and simply.
